While we champion innovation and the advantages that AI offers, we will not accept AI-generated or AI-edited pieces.

Submission Guidelines:

Length: We invite compelling short stories between 2,500 – 3,000 words that transport readers to worlds beyond imagination.

Genre: Your narrative should embrace the paranormal and supernatural, weaving a tapestry of magic and mystery.

Characters: Celebrate diversity by placing people of color at the heart of your fantastical journey. Let their stories shine in the realm of fantasy.

For artists: We are also accepting black-and-white illustrations.

• No simultaneous submissions.
• Reprints are OK.

Only one submission per author – put your best work forward!

What We’re Paying

We are paying a flat rate per submission.

• $200 per short story
• $50-100 per illustration (it depends on the size and complexity of the image).

How to Submit:

The submission deadline is June 30, 2024.

To ensure that your manuscript is not auto-rejected, please follow these guidelines:

• Craft your mesmerizing short story.
• Ensure it aligns with the paranormal and supernatural themes.
• Write a brief cover letter describing yourself and your story.
• Format your story according to standard manuscript format. Need an example? Here is a link to a comprehensive sample, or you can read our article on SMF.
• Save your document in Word, Open Office, or as a plain text document. 
• Name the document file as: “Author Name – Title of Story”

For artwork:

• Save your work in .PNG, Photoshop, or Illustrator format
• Name the document file as: “Artist Name – Title of Piece”

Email your submission to submissions@taevopublishing.com with the following:

Subject: “Universes of a Creator Submission – [Your Story Title].”

Body: Put your cover letter here.

Attachment: The piece you’re submitting.
